Description(s):
HeLa cells are human cancer cells derived from a cervical carcinoma from a 31 year old black female. This was the first aneuploid cell line derived from human tissue with ability to maintain in continuous cell culture. Susceptible to Poliovirus type I and adenovirus type 3. The cells should be handled under laboratory containment level 2.
