Characterization

Description(s):

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a group of RNAs with more than 200 nucleotides in length with limited protein coding potential. They play critical roles in transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. Recent studies have shown that dysregulated expression of lncRNAs is involved in a wide range of diseases including cardiovascular disease, neurodegeneration disease and cancer.  LncRNA is related to the initiation and progression of various types of cancer and correlated with cancer prognosis, including metastasis, recurrence and response to therapy. It suggests that lncRNAs may participate in cancer development by functioning as tumor suppressors and oncogenes. They act as a biomarker of significant biological events. Recent research indicates higher HULC expression can be a useful prognostic biomarker in human cancers, like liver cancer. Signosis has developed a highly sensitive, robust SYBR green based real-time PCR assay for measuring LncRNAs expression in different types of cancer. This kit included RNA reference controls both in cytoplasm (beta-Actin) and nucleus (U6) for subcellular fraction studied and normalization.
