Description(s):
PTH (Parathyroid Hormone) is a hormone secreted by the parathyroid glands and mainly regulating calcium/phosphate levels in the blood. When the low calcium level is detected in blood, the parathyroid gland secrets the PTH and increase the calcium level by reabsorbing of calcium from bone/intestine and suppressing of calcium loss in urine. Generally, when the patient shows hypercalcemia (too much calcium in your blood) or hypocalcemia (too little calcium in your blood) symptoms, the blood test will be carried out to find out if the unbalanced calcium level is caused by parathyroid glands. The Signosis' PTH Immunoassay provides a rapid, sensitive, and reliable assay for the quantitative measurement of PTH level in the sample.
